China describes Philippines as source of instability to South China Sea
During a press conference held on Wednesday, Zhang Xiaogang addressed comments made by the Philippine defense minister, who stated that the country's military would respond to what he termed China’s “aggressive” behavior in the disputed waters. The official also highlighted Manila’s growing defense cooperation with countries such as the United States, Australia, Japan, and India.
Zhang rejected those claims, stating they were "a complete distortion of the facts" and an effort to deflect responsibility. According to him, the Philippines’ territorial boundaries were clearly established through historical international agreements, which he said do not include the islands currently under contention in the South China Sea.
